My interest in the suburban landscape stems from its absence of any obvious interest. The suburbs lack the action and convenience of a city or the natural beauty of rural areas leaving it a mundane middle-man where residents sleep and leave in the morning. Very few spend time in the suburbs, giving it a feeling of desolation while still being strangely well manicured.

These images deal with odd peculiarities of the suburbs by showing the awkward spaces and everyday objects found in the environment. Political signs, chain link fences, and foliage are some overlooked objects that make up the basic elements of the environment. It is my goal to inspire greater reflection concerning the role of mundanity within people’s home environments.
